What is Fence-O-Mania?

This is a great opportunity for all the fencers to start the season with lots of bouts!

Here’s how we’re making this an awesome competition experience:

  • We’ve added a team event to this tournament this year!
  • As usual, the individual event will have multiple rounds of pools separating groups by level so fencers get more experience with people that challenge them appropriately
  • We’ve mixed men’s and women’s events so you can fence lots of different people
  • We’ve updated the age categories to better fit the Alberta Fencing scene: Senior, U15, and U11
    • U11 and U15 fencers can choose to fence two individual events if they’d like!
    • What’s more, if you register for two individual events, you get $15 off each individual registration
  • Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each final round as well as the top 4 of each category.

The winners of Open Epee and Open Foil will get their names engraved on a belt!

Tournament Details

  • Date: Sept 12-13, 2026

  • Regular Registration Closes Sept 5th

  • Registration Closes Sept 10th

  • Location: Epic Fencing Club 3309 9St SE, Calgary, AB

  • Events:

    • U11 – U9 fencers welcome too!
    • U15 – and U13 and U11 fencers welcome too!
    • Open – Junior, Cadet, and U15 fencers welcome too!

  • Individual Event Fee: $75

    • Register for a second individual event and get $15 off each!
      • The discount will be applied as a refund after the event

  • Team Event Fee: $40 per event

    • Receive a $10 discount when you register for both individual and team!
      • The discount will be applied as a refund after the event
    • All fencers will register for their spots on a team
      • When registering, indicate whether:
        • You’re registering with a pre-made group – list team members
        • You’re registering for an Epic team which will be assigned by Epic Coaches
        • Note: This is mandatory for U11 and U15 Epic fencers though they can indicate preferences

  • Hotel

    • We recommend Hotel Blackfoot for this event – just an 8min drive away!
      • $159-189 per night
      • Includes internet and breakfast for up to 4 people

Note: Listed times are for Close of Registration. It is recommended that fencers arrive with sufficient time prior to close of registration to check equipment and warm up. Fencers should expect events to begin 15 to 30 minutes after Close of Registration
